St Francis Xavier Catholic Parish: A Historic Pillar of Faith in Goodna

Welcome to St Francis Xavier Catholic Parish, a vibrant and deeply historical spiritual home located at 6 Church Street in Goodna, Queensland. Serving the local community and the wider Ipswich region, our parish blends a rich heritage with a warm, welcoming atmosphere for all who walk through our doors.
A Legacy of Faith
Our parish has a proud and enduring history. The beautiful heritage-listed church, originally known as St Patrick’s Church, was designed by renowned architect Andrea Giovanni Stombuco and built in 1881. For well over a century, this sacred space has stood as a central gathering place for worship, sacraments, and community life.
Community and Education
St Francis Xavier is more than just a historic building; it is a growing, dynamic family of faith. Our parish is closely connected with St Francis Xavier Catholic Primary School in Goodna and St Ann’s School in Redbank Plains. Together, we foster a strong foundation of Catholic education, nurturing the spiritual and academic growth of the youth in our rapidly expanding community.
